Queens recorded 5,401 rodent complaints in 2025, down 25.1 percent from 7,213 in 2024. With a population of 2,309,350, the borough reported 23.39 complaints per 10,000 residents, the second lowest rate in the city and well under the citywide figure of 37.25.
Reported activity concentrates in the borough's western neighborhoods. Astoria (North)-Ditmars-Steinway led at 64.85 complaints per 10,000 residents from 246 complaints, narrowly ahead of Astoria (East)-Woodside (North) at 64.56. Ridgewood carried the largest raw count among the borough's most affected areas at 604 complaints, though its population of 101,704 places it third on rate at 59.39. Sunnyside posted the steepest local decline at 44.0 percent, followed by Ridgewood at 37.7 percent.
